For rosé wine, red grapes are vinified as a crisp white wine – so after pressing, no maceration and aging in steel tanks. An important criterion of rosè wine is the color, that is why it is bottled in white bottles and not dark ones, where the customer could not see the color.
We prefer a light salmon color when bottling (the wine will be darker by itself anyway), and to get a nice result here requires a lot of experience in the cellar during pressing and the ratio of the blend. It should be light, but not too light; after all the wine should also exhibit character and backbone. Around 12.0% alcohol – that’s just right!
