A young, fresh, round, and lively wine. It displays distinct notes of wild berries masterfully blended with hints of dark chocolate and tobacco. Tannins are well-balanced by a pleasant acidity.
The Cannonau grape is a dark-skinned grape variety primarily grown in Sardinia, Italy, and is believed to be the same as the Grenache grape. It produces red wines with a distinctive taste profile of red fruits, spices, and Mediterranean herbs, often characterized by high alcohol, low acidity, and powerful tannins. These wines are often paired with savory Sardinian dishes like roasted meats and aged cheeses.
The wine also has some of the highest levels of resveratrol, another polyphenol found in the skin of the grapes, which a study has shown to help combat the formation of plaque found in the brains of dementia patients.
